Frequently Asked Questions

What is NapkinLedger, in one sentence?

A double-entry bookkeeping app for small businesses where you enter a few big items a month and confirm your cash balances — that's the whole system.

Why only $3/month?

No bank connections, no data-hungry infrastructure, no sales team. Lean software stays cheap.

Is the $3 billed monthly?

No — it's $3/month billed annually ($36/year), paid upfront. A 14-day full refund applies to first payments.

Do I need to know accounting?

No. You fill friendly forms (a sale, a purchase, a balance check); the double-entry engine writes correct ledger lines behind them.

What are "General Business Expenses"?

An honest bundle for small purchases you don't want to categorize. They still appear on your income statement — just as one line.

Can I use it in Arabic?

Yes. The whole interface works in Arabic, English, or Spanish with full RTL support for Arabic; switch anytime from the header.

Does it connect to my bank?

Deliberately no. Manual entry of a handful of numbers is safer, cheaper, and matches the monthly cadence.

What reports do I get?

An income statement (P&L) per month/year, cash balances per account, and receivables/payables aging.

What happens if I stop subscribing?

You can export your data anytime. After cancellation your account becomes read-only; nothing is deleted.

How do reminders work?

Mark a purchase as recurring and next month's form pre-fills itself — confirm, tweak, submit.
